Our greeters are the warm and smiling face of the church. About 60 people are involved in this ministry and can be found on a Sabbath morning at the Greenwood Ave. entrance and at the two sides of the Narthex on Flower Ave. Their welcoming manner helps to make Sligo an inviting church and what one guest called, ‘an easy place to visit.’
Members of this team are among our most outgoing and people-loving groups. They are usually situated at the Information Desk in the Atrium and at the Reception Desk in the Narthex, ready to greet anyone who enters – members and guests alike. They augment the work of the greeters by offering assistance and support when needed.
This team is always on the look out for committed members who love to make others feel welcome. If you wish to be a part of this ministry, contact team leader, Ivybelle Roye.
Our weekly meals are provided by our hospitality teams for guests and for fellowship of members. Starting this fall, we will be inviting specific groups of members on a rotational basis (ie. Sabbath School classes, Elders/Parishes) to enjoy a time of food, fellowship and food for thought.
Anyone who loves to cook and and is blessed with the gift of hospitality may join a team by contacting the chair of this ministry, Louvina Joseph, on 301 431 2188.
