On March 20, 2014 after eight years of dedicated service to our church and Sligo children, Charisse Sullivan- Mensah, Children’s Choir Director, felt the calling of God on her life to explore new areas of ministry. Charisse shared, “God is calling me in a new direction so it is with a heavy heart that I am submitting my notice.”

Charisse’s contribution expressed through her love and musical expertise has been an immense blessing to our congregation and to scores of our young children. It is a joy to see the light in the eyes and the glow in the face of each child in the choir as this energetic group proudly played its part in filling the sanctuary with worshipful music. We will cherish these experiences for years to come.

As Charisse moves on to other areas of ministry service, we will endeavor to build on the strong foundation that she laid with the children. We intend to continue growing great kids through the musical development offered by our Children’s Choir. We plan for the choir to resume at the end of the summer and continue its legacy of musical excellence. We trust that God will continue to develop the choir’s gifts and talents for His glory. Our prayers go with Charisse as she follows God’s leading in her life.
